About Me

Hello! My name is Alicia Low.

I am a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) educator based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I have a B.A. in Linguistics and B.A. in Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience) from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (English) from Universiti Utara Malaysia. I also hold a Certificate in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Leadership from Saint Elizabeth University.

I started teaching in 2014 as a Teach For Malaysia Fellow, and taught for two years at a high-need secondary school in the Klang Valley. Subsequently, I worked as an English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher. For five years, I taught English language learners aged 7 to 11 at a top-ranked international school in Malaysia.

With 8 years of classroom experience, I transitioned into the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) field. I served as the SEL Program Specialist and Coordinator at a non-governmental organisation serving the urban poor and marginalised community in Kuala Lumpur.

I started All About SEL to create SEL resources that are relevant in my teaching context. I am passionate about teacher training, curriculum development, and life transformation for all students.
